Super Bowl - Bling

Faith Hill, Chesley Sullenberger, Jennifer Hudson - What a great start - I had no idea Jennifer had such a wonderful voice.
If you missed the Super Bowl Commercials, you can still catch them at:
http://hulu.com/ or
http://nbc.com/

I thought I knew which commercial I liked best, but when I kept watching, I saw even more I liked.
Dorito's - with the crystal ball landing you know where!
Dorito's - with the money spouting from the ATM
Bud Light - with the guy flying through the window in his chair - super funny
Pepsi - with all the dancing
Pepsi Max - with the klutzy guys
Audi - great action
Pedigree - with the exotic animals
Budweiser - with the retriever Clydesdale and one of Rascal's half relatives, a Dalmatian
Budweiser - with the same Clydesdale following his girlfriend, Daisy to the circus, and the Dalmatian - a real riot!
Castrol Edge - with the real grease monkeys
Hyndai - with the other foreign car guys mad
Teleflora - with the talking flowers
Jay Leno - driving his Corvette
Careerbuilder.com - with the mean boss and the guy crying and the kuala bear
Transformers trailer - looks like a great action flick

Bruce Springstein - I couldn't hear him too well on a few of the songs, but he really belted out Glory Days!

Do you remember any of the commercials? Do you have favorites? What did you think of the half-time show?

  1. I'm not a Bruce fan, but the halftime show was good. I think they are wise to stick with older, mature performers, considering the age of those watching. (Plus less likely for a wardrobe malfunction!)

We thought the commercials were really lame this year - not funny and very mean-spirited. The best ones were the trailers for G.I. Joe and Transformers. The game itself outscored the commercials easily this year!

My fav had to be the e*trade commercial with the baby... only because I never saw my father laugh so hard when the baby called the old golfer 'shankapotomus'. I thought we were going to have to pick him up off the floor.

The commercials are the best part of the whole event! I remember when the budweiser frogs first debuted - really cool.

Well, ok, 2nd best. Seeing Janet Jackson's bare boob a few bowls ago was 1st place top shelf awesome off the hook cool!(grin)

That second Dorito's commercial with the ATM was made by a guy that went to college (NYU's Tisch School of the Arts) with my sister. I had met the guy before, so it was fun seeing someone I knew on tv.

Don't forget the teaser trailer for G.I. Joe! Having grown up with the toys, I'm looking forward to that movie quite a bit.

  7. My favorite was the one with Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head. It was a tire commercial I think. That one had me laughing so hard.

  8. I promptly forgot the commercials, so I can't pick a favorite. But Springsteen still rocks!

  10. The Cash4Gold commercial was my favorite, seeing MC Hammer and Ed McMahon talk about selling their old "gold" for cash was pretty funny. I was really disappointed in the Audi Chase commercial, with Jason Statham. I was hoping it'd be much better than it actually was. Overall, the commercials were okay this year. I think some of the more last minute commercials ended up being funnier than some of the big wow commercials. I actually enjoyed the game a little bit more than the commercials.
