Sunday night I watched the ACMs (Academy of Country Music Awards) Show while on Twitter. What fun, tweeting back and forth about the performers. It was like we were all at a party together, dissing or cheering for favorites, commenting on clothes, voices, you name it.
Twitter makes it easy to do this. If you enjoy something popular on TV, you'll probably find the topic in the right hand column there. You click on it and you'll discover everyone that's doing tweets on it.
For a few minutes, Twitter went Over Capacity. Must have been the ACMs that did it!
Anyway, I enjoyed listening and watching. You can catch my tweets in the Twitter box to the left. Just use its scroller.

I've been a country fan since 1970 - "I was country when country wasn't cool." I listen to a terrific radio station for someone like me who enjoys some of the older music - it features stars and legends - lots of Johnny Cash, and the older singers.
ReplyDeleteI did watch the ACM awards last night. I enjoyed the first hour most of all, and then read during a lot of the rest of the show. But, I did enjoy Trace Atkins' song, and was pleased to see him win an award. I'll have to read your tweets!

There are two types of country real old country and the stuff they call country thee days. I'm sory but the modern country I can take or leave. I do love the words of some and sing many Garth Brookes etc. But give me some old rock and roll or Doo wop.

I am so behind in the music world in any genre. I didn't see the show and when I read about it in the paper there were very few names I even recognized. Sounds like a fun use of Twitter, though.

I enjoy country music, but did not watch the awards shows. I don't enjoy watching awards shows very much. I love Toby Kieth and Dierks Bentley. I enjoy all types of music, from classical and pop to black metal and jazz. Music is good for the soul. I hope you enjoyed the awards.

I watched bits and pieces while doing work. I seemed to miss the best parts. I'd come back just as someone was finishing singing or I'd go in the TV room just as Reba was saying something about someone's fabulous dress, but the camera didn't cut to the dress.

We have a tv, I know we do because I hear it every once in a while when my better half is home. I don't watch much of it. As for music, that is on 24/7 here and it goes from Nickleback (thanks to my son), all the way to Bach (the original and no, I did not know him personally). I have several music files that play constantly with the above range. As for twitter, twittering can be so tweet.

Here, we listen to a variety that ranges from AC/DC to Nickelback (rock), Boa (Japanese pop--in Japanese), to Johnny Cash-and just about everything in between. On any given day, we cover the full range. Unfortunately, our TV doesn't work as a TV, so I mised the awards :-(
