On the Road Again

On the Road Again - Willie Nelson is singing in my mind as we take to the highways and byways, making our way to the NorthWoods for the first time this year.

I'm anxious to visit my good friend, Jeanne, again, and also to feed my slot playing weakness at Lake of the Torches. Since we're both short of cash, this vacation we've pledged to only bring with a certain amount of money yet to be determined each trip and not bring our checkbooks and credit cards along. When the money's gone, we're gone.

One good thing - I cashed in my loose change jar at home and my jar at work and now have $187.00 and $64.00 respectively, to play with at the casino. I'll probably match that with fresh money for other trips, but not sure if I can afford more. Unless, that is, I win. (G)

What about you? Are you a gambler? Do you like to play slots? I love them. The DH hates them.
Please share.

  1. The only time I've ever played was in Vegas during my honeymoon - which took place eighteen years ago today! We played mostly draw poker and only lost about ten dollars. But it was several hours of entertainment and since they bring you free drinks, I know we consumed much more than ten dollars' worth!

Here's hoping you come out ahead, Morgan!

  2. I'm quite content playing penny and nickel slots but become bored quickly if they they don't pay out at least a few credits here and there to keep me interested.

Nah I'm no gambler. But hey - that's some serious coin there in those piggy banks! :)

And I LOVE Willie Nelson's music!

  4. I don't really gamble much, although I indulge in silly one pound bets with friends.

  5. At the end of the day it could be more like "gee but it's great to be back home"

Gambling? in England there are not so many (I think a couple over the last few years) super casino's, but all pubs and bars have lot machines of various types. Every high street has at least one if not two or three betting shops (mainly for horse racing and greyhound racing bets) these a lot of people attend for there 5 horse eachway one pound Saturday bet. Unless there is a big race like the Grand National when the whole country has a bet.
Since being in the US I have been to Foxwoods once when my wife went to see Deaf Leopard there, just for the experiencing. It is too dangerous of a place for be to frequent more often *grin* Perhaps one day I will make it to Vegas.

  7. I just returned from a trip myself, visiting family. I don't gamble but my DH enjoys it once in a while (doesn't take much so he can't lose much!). Have a great time!
