Are you ready?

I am so not ready for Christmas. I just realized I don't have much time either. One good thing is the DH is off Friday and possibly all next week, so I can give him a few chores to do, which may help some. I'm counting on him to put stamps and labels on the Christmas cards, and do a few things around the house to straighten it out some. Unfortunately, I'm the organizer in the family, so I can't expect too much on the getting-the- house ready front. That's pathetic, since I'm not very organized. (g)

Anyway, I hope to get the house into decent shape before Christmas, when I do my annual meal for the family. There's also that Christmas list to get together. Time is ticking away.

What about you? Are you ready for Christmas? Or do you celebrate another Holiday? If so, are you ready?

  1. Ready? No, not by a long shot. This is the first year that all my trees weren't up by Thanksgiving. Books tours, editing and volunteering has taken more time this year.

I can now say that I am officially done shopping, which is the toughest part for me because I don't enjoy it at all. That's why I shop online for 95% of everything. If I can avoid a store, I do.

We decorated the large tree in the family room today. Now there are only two trees left to decorate and then I need to bring up the rest of the decor.

Christmas letters have been written and printed, and I'll probably sit down this weekend to address the envelopes. The one to Austria will be late, but that can't be helped.

    Have fun getting ready.

  2. I'm ready. Just one more gift to buy and one's still en route in the mail. I'll mail out the last couple boxes of presents Monday.
    And then, bring on Christmas!
Morgan, if it doesn't turn out perfect, it'll still be okay.

  3. Hi Morgan, I wish I could say that I'm ready, but I'm not. Working retail wreaks havoc on the desire to shop for Christmas. I did get the Christmas lights out last week when we had the burst of 60 degree weather and now they are blanketed by a layering of snow. Christmas will come whether I'm ready for it or not. And whatever I get done will be enough. Wishing you and your family the happiest of holiday seasons!

  4. Every year I say I'll be ready and every year I end up shopping frantically at the last minute. Guess that's the story of my life but I love it. Happy holidays.

  5. I'm semi-ready. That means, the tree is up, house decorated along with the outide (DH's job).

I'm slowly getting my Christmas cards mailed. The list shrinks every year. Has anyone else noticed this? Guess too many people rely on e-mails to communicate throughout the year.

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

  6. LOL, are you kidding, Morgan? I am so not ready. In fact, all next week I may blog about how not ready I am. It happens every year, and like my writing, I think I thrive on tight deadlines. Somehow it will all come together, including the jelly I still need to make for gifts.

  7. No, I'm not ready. When is someone going to come up with Christmas cards that write and mail themselves!?!

  9. Hi, Morgan!

This year will be so much fun for Dion (my husband) and me because now we're GRANDPARENTS! Our little grandson, Noah will only be close to eight months old at the time, so he won't really enjoy Christmas, but WE will! I can't wait to see how he reacts to things. He is such a happy, good-natured, little guy. And boy is he adorable! (Can you tell that I'm excited?) LOL!

I think Christmases are going to get better every year from now on and I can't wait!

    Merry Christmas!

  10. We're hitting the EASY BUTTON (Staples commercial) for the holidays this year. Our theme is No Stress. We purchased simple gifts for people and will mail them Monday in one box to my parents who will distribute them to all on Christmas.

We're also staying home, although we'll probably go to Disneyland where we have annual passes.
