It used to be totally brown and I actually killed a cactus because I hadn't watered it in so long; but being a homeowner and investing in a few books has given me a tiny bit of a green thumb. I'll never be Paul James or Martha Stewart, but I get by.

Cheryl
http://www.thebookconnectionccm.blogspot.com/Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03470069911115912344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35940445.post-77276004205394718932009-04-23T17:16:00.000-05:002009-04-23T17:16:00.000-05:00Very green thumb. Although, last year, as a bit of an experiment, I planted tomatoes, green peppers and jalapeno peppers in what had been an old, old flower bed alongside my house, just to see if any of them might survive and actually produce anything under my care. There were way too many plants in that small a space for openers, but surprisingly enough, several of the tomato plants grew, blossumed and I think we got about 2 dozen tomatoes. The green peppers budded and got some wee tiny peppers but something else apparently liked those things as they disappeared about as quickly as the had appeared. We did get maybe a dozen jalapeno peppers though we would have gotten more of them if my granddaughter would have left them grow. Apparently she was quite fascinated with those little peppers just starting to grow. Maybe this year I'll try again but will plant them better -not so many as to choke the other plants out, ya know.Jenihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16425701332785470116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35940445.post-28604256492359162222009-04-23T10:48:00.000-05:002009-04-23T10:48:00.000-05:00Pic is up now.
