What's Your Favorite Gadget?

I've mentioned it before. I love gadgets. My favorite is still my Iphone since it has so many uses. I make and take phone calls and photos. I surf the net, send and receive e-mails, listen to music, watch videos, get directions, play the ipod, read books, plus so much more.

What about you? What's your favorite gadget? Maybe it's a Kindle, a camera, a videorecorder, a Swiss army knife, a TV remote, a garage door opener, an electric can opener.

Please name it and tell us why you like it so much.

Right now it would be my laptop. I live on this thing and probably will for some time to come. Not as small as Hagelrat's but I still take it with me practically everywhere.

  3. I'm not really a gadget person- my daughter is. I received my first mp3 player for Christmas- it is tempermental and decides when or if it wants to turn on.

So, I tend to stick to non gadget things.

  7. For me it would have to be my laptop as well. I just got an ebook reader, so this might change in the near future. I'm not so into small gadgets.

I'm a dinosaur. I have my PC, my laptop and a 5 year old cell phone with no internet on it, that's it. Well I could get internet but I refuse to pay extra. I HAVE given in and started doing TM's on it though.

  9. I'm a total gadget-a-holic! If I can afford it, it's mine, lol! Right now, other than my computer, I would say my mp3 player. I am looking for and deciding on a new cellphone, so am hoping to get a blackberry or some such thing as that. I would love to get an iPhone, but not sure if they are even offered around here (yes, we live in the boonies, lol)

  10. Morgan, you know it. It's the iPhone. Yep. Yep. All the stuff you can do, and now you can also download some audio books from your local library. Too bad that the good reads are not all yet available for MP3 players, but it's getting there!

  11. It's definitely not my phone - I hate that thing! Since I'm a professional photographer by trade, I'd have to say my Nikon cameras, especially the two handy CoolPix cameras that I take when I'm on the road. (The big boys stay at home where it's safe...)

My husband would definitely say his ITouch!!! I got it for him when they first came out and he LOVES it. (Not the IPhone, just the Touch - he hates cell phones too.) He also loves the electric guitar I got him for Christmas two years ago.

  12. I'm not that into gadgets per se but I suppose my digital camera would be the one I do have that I appreciate the most. Love the fact that I don't have to wait to finish a roll of film to share a picture or pictures.Just download to the computer whenever I want and presto magic, there they are.

  13. I should say my laptop since there is where I spend most of the hours of the day. It's a toss up between my Palm, which is where I store all my contacts and calendar (if I had a Palm phone or Blackberry, those would replace it and I could put the Palm on them and have a phone new enough to have Internet, camera, and all the whizbang stuff). The other choice would be my digital recorder. I use it so much when I do interviews.

  14. Love my laptop - I can work anywhere. Also lovin' my cell phone, an LG Decoy. The bluetooth is an attachment on the phone so I never lose it. And, it's probably not an official gadget, but I love my wine bottle opener. I just keep turning the handle and the cork emerges. It's like magic!

Your mention of a Swiss Army Knife brought a smile to my face. I was so naive when I was a teenager (it was a hush-hush subject when I was young in the 1940's to early 1950's) that when my boyfriend kissed me, I thought he always carried his Swiss penknife around in his mackintosh pocket!

  19. My husband is the gadget guy at our house. He'd have every single one if he could. But my favorite is the Flip video recorder we bought each other this Christmas. I'm really enjoying it.

Morgan, thanks for your visit to my blog. Sorry you had to read my post at lunch time!

I have two: my phone (T-Mobile Wing Pocket PC phone) and my Buck X-tract LED multitool. It really helps to trim watercolor paper off the block, remove staples, open boxes, etc.

  21. My all time favorite gadget is my Zen mp3 player. It holds all the music I'd want, and has a slot for a SD card, which holds pictures, video and my newly discovered love--audio books. Its easy to load, no annoying ITunes needed, just plug it into the computer, drag and drop my files.
