Tour Turn - Make Up a Story About - Pop Goes Your Powerline

On the way in to work on the train, being the nosy person I am, I happened to notice a headline in the paper of someone seated in front of me. It was called Pop Goes the Powerline.  It made me think of a fun writing exercise. If you accept the challenge, do a blurb or paragraph using this story as a spinoff. For added incentive to participate, if you wish you may include your website and/or blogspot and a buy link for one of your books. If you don't have a book out, you can still have fun with this one.

  1. Blurb:
Mylar balloons and Electric lines don't mix, and Morgan's kiss landed on Derrick's lips with sizzle enough to shut down all of Chicago. Is he destined to stumble through the dark, ignoring the warning signs, or will he find out that beneath her party atmosphere beats a heart colder than ice.

Thanks, Morgan...this was fun. I hope this was what you had in mind, but it stimulated my brain anyhow. :)
I'd like to invite people to check out my blog at http://mizging.blogspot.com and enjoy my recent posts about historical research.

  2. It was cheap, and it was easy. Wished I'd thought of it earlier. Went to Walgreens, bought the mylar baloon, had it blown up at the store.

Waited until night, sent it up into the power lines and wham, bam, and also a thank you, ma'am.

Lights went out all over--not Georgia--but along Elm Street. Then it was essy in, and easy out . . . of the houses with owners away for the evening. None of their cars around. Toted all their valuables in pretty pillow slips and left whistling all the way to Dixie, so to speak.
