A True Optimist |
Can you spot the true optimist in this photo?
I'll give you a hint - it's yellow.
Yes, one of my daffodils dares to believe it can survive, despite the cold temperatures and recent deluge of snow. Somehow, this optimist believes Spring is coming and it can hang on until then.
Maybe it will. I'm hoping it does, because I admire such optimism.
That's the kind of attitude I'd like to cultivate. Every book I write I want to be the best I've ever written, and I want to convince everyone else it's true.
If a daffodil can do it, so can I!
A book like a daffodil will be a hit.
ReplyDeleteWe're warmer here. This past weekend my husband picked a bouquet of yellow daffodils from the garden and brought them inside.
I don't think we humans are entirely geared toward optimism. Reality has a brutal way of keeping such things in check. Having said that, I'm optimistic that someday I will finish Lethe and find a niche for myself among the start.
ReplyDeleteNice. I don't think our daffodils will be brave for another month or two, but like you, I hope...
ReplyDeleteBless those little daffodils. They are springing up all over here in East Texas and it definitely lifts my spirits to see the fields covered in bright yellow.
ReplyDeleteLove those little daffodils. They remind us that winter will eventually end.
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils too! They usually come really early here in TX.
ReplyDeletemine are up and blooming too but I am in the south. Trees are already starting to bud!
ReplyDeleteI left an award for you over at my blog.

I thing spring in general brings people more hope and restores their optimism. Good catch, Morgan, spotting that daffodil!
ReplyDeleteMorgan, I use to have a lot of daffodils in my front yard. We were waiting eagerly for the first one to appear so that we could smile and say it's Spring. And sure enough the poor thing would be covered with snow two days later. Like you, I am an optimist who always believe tomorrow is going to be better. I wish I could say today is the best.
ReplyDeleteI definitely I'm an optimist and always look at the positive side of things.
ReplyDeleteBeing optimistic is a way of enjoying our life. We can not say for sure we have a good life for the second we were born until we pass away. Hardship, divorce, unemployment... only being optimistic will bring us from the bottom line to the top
