I can do it on the train in the morning, in the afternoon on my days off of work, or late at night when the DH and the dog are sleeping. Sometimes I do it on a TV tray, while I'm watching television, but not often, because it's harder to concentrate that way.
I'm talking about writing, in case you're wondering.
What about you? When does inspiration strike you?
Are you a morning person, or does it take you a while to wake up and get started?
Or maybe you're a Night Owl?
Please tell us. When do you do it?
A little Green Eggs and Ham humor?
ReplyDeleteYes, I write at all times as well. I have no set time or pattern. Some days it's fifteen minutes, some it's several hours.
Happy New Year, Morgan!
LOL, Morgan for a boomer chick, you are so BAD...lead me to believe this was something not about writing, lol...just ribbing ya. When the muse hits, that's when I write and lately the only thing I've been able to get out are articles to promote the business. Blogs are a great release, though...I can let my hair down and talk about whatever I want. I'd love to get back in my books one day.
ReplyDeleteUsually in the morning unless my need to get to work early and get a good parkingspot outweighs my need to write. Then I'll writer when I get home.
ReplyDeleteBut I took Christmas off
Ha- I write when I can't put it off any longer...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I always do best writing in the morning, though sometimes I'm so fired up I keep on through the afternoon. I do my editing in the evening.

I write whenever I can, but I usually like to stay up late after the girls are in bed because then I can concentrate more easily.

I write whenever the characters scream the loudest.. but after nine months of constant writing and 4 novels later, I find that I write the most at night... I try and get out everything my characters what me to, then they let me sleep! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy most creative time is at night -- often late at night. Mornings are for critter chores, afternoons for editing work....when it's quiet, with all in bed, that's a good time to write. Which I should be doing more often.
ReplyDeleteHowever, when inspiration strikes, I can write anytime!

Well, you had me going. Especially when you said you can do it anywhere. . . okay. Writing, huh. Yes, I can do it anywhere, any time. Just when the desire strikes me, which is usually at midnight to 3:00 am, like now. Green eggs and ham, Sam I am. . .love it.
ReplyDeleteIf I fooled some of you, that's good. I did try. I didn't have much time to do it in, but I had a bit of fun concocting this short blog.

Any time and at all times, if I'm in the blessed "zone." When inspiration hits, I just go 24/7/365 until I pass out or explode in a wall-to-wall-floor-to-ceiling splat of plasma. When not in the zone, I write mostly in the mornings when I tend to have more good ideas naturally.
ReplyDeleteI usually write first thing in the morning when I'm fresh and can focus. Or when I'm trying to sleep but some idea won't let me. Or one time, a few months ago, we had a power outage for hours on end and I was too wound up to sleep, so I took a flashlight and a lined tablet and wrote a whole chapter of the third book in the Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story series. Overcame a few hurdles, too, that had been holding me up! LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't have a schedule for writing. I just write whenever and sometimes it can take days to complete a blog post. Just too busy I guess, or self doubt and wanting to write till it's perfect.
