You know when you share a flat with other girls and you go out get drunk and spout poetry or lyrics or quotes from favourite authors at 3am? You know how you analyse, re analyse and over analyse every minute aspect of your life? Then you move out on your own, or in with a lover and all of a sudden that insane, possibly unhealthily close link with someone is missing. Blogging replaced that for me. Being able to be part of random aspects of so many peoples lives replaced the closeness of housesharing or i suppose the close communities we are lead to believe used to exist. Anthropologically it's sitting around the fire all evening talking with our peers about nothing much and just hanging out, which we did a lot before we civilised ourselves into misery and stress.
